THOMPSON PASS, ALASKA

Your trip to Thompson Pass starts by flying into the Anchorage airport. The typical trip will spend one night in Anchorage before making the 6 hour drive to Valdez.  Flights to Valdez are an option and take about 45 minutes to an hour, but are scheduled quite infrequently and will sometimes be cancelled in inclement weather.

Thompson Pass is an incredible area with quality snow and very high quality terrain about 30 miles outside of the town of Valdez. Trips are on a custom basis given the current climate and suggested length is one week minimum.  Accommodations are in the town of Valdez, and each day we make the drive to Thompson Pass to ski.

In Spring 2021 I ran a couple trips here, and we developed some good relationships. If you like to take a day off from ski touring some of our add ons are:

Helicopter Bump to begin the day higher

Plane ride to begin your day higher

Snowcat Skiing over the town of Valdez

Boat ride in the Prince William Sound

Car laps on a storm day

Please feel free to contact for more information as this trip can be customized to fit your interests and needs.

Update November 2021: We are fully booked for Spring 2022 in Valdez
