Trip Overview: Backcountry Skiing Valdez Alaska

Experience the thrill of untouched powder and breathtaking mountain vistas in our Backcountry Skiing Adventure in Thompson Pass, Alaska. Located just outside Valdez, Thompson Pass is renowned for its incredible snowfall and diverse terrain, making it a premier destination for avid skiers seeking an unparalleled adventure. This all-inclusive trip offers everything you need for an unforgettable 8 days of backcountry skiing, from transportation and accommodations to expertly guided tours and gourmet meals. For those seeking an extra add-on, we also offer the option of a helicopter drop with some of our partners to access some of the most remote and pristine skiing areas in the region.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Anchorage

Meet and greet at Anchorage International Airport

Transfer to your hotel in Anchorage

Welcome dinner and trip briefing

Day 2: Travel to Valdez

Scenic drive from Anchorage to Valdez through stunning Alaskan landscapes

Check-in to your comfortable Airbnb in Valdez

Evening dinner and then free time to prepare for the days ahead

Days 3-9: Backcountry Skiing in Thompson Pass

Daily guided backcountry skiing tours led by AMGA Certified Ski Guides

Explore diverse terrain, from open bowls and glaciers to steep chutes and tree runs

All meals provided, featuring hearty breakfasts, packed lunches, and gourmet dinners

Optional helicopter drop on selected days for accessing remote ski areas (additional cost)

Evening relaxation and socializing at the Airbnb, sharing stories and experiences

Day 10: Return to Anchorage

Morning departure from Valdez

Scenic drive back to Anchorage

Farewell dinner in Anchorage

Evening flight departures or extend your stay in Anchorage

Prices for private groups depend on group size and cost of Airbnb (or hotels if preferred) but start at $15000 for a private group of 3 or 4 with one guide. A second guide can be added if desired to lower guide to client ratio and allow for more technical objectives.
